Follow these easy steps to improve your sleep:

Exercise

I'm sure you've heard it all before, but like in all things balance is key, also for your overall wellbeing. Being active and resting should equal in your everyday, so in being able to have a good night sleep you should make sure to move that body of yours enough trough out the day. Now i'm not saying that you should run a marathon, although that would be pretty awesome, but just getting that extra exercise in every day will help you feel and sleep better. Just make sure you don't exercise shortly before going to bed, allow your body to calm down and prepare for sleep mode.

Eat Healthy

Obviously eating healthy is very important in general but furthermore in regards to better sleep. Also make sure you eat enough protein. This will help your body recover at night and make you feel more rested in the morning. If you eat meat, try to avoid it in the evenings, just so your body won't have a hard time at night digesting it. There are a lot of plant-based proteins, that are easier to digest, like lentils, beans, chia seeds, quinoa or spirulina for example.

Create a routine 

Start your own routine to prepare your body and mind for sleeping. This can be anything from practicing yoga, reading a book or drinking a relaxing cup of tea (just make sure it's a herbal tea and no black or green tea which contain caffeine). Maybe you enjoy putting on a candle an listening to classical music, writing a journal of your day, taking a relaxing bath or meditating. No electronics 1 hour before sleep 

A big step to improve your sleep is by banning all of your electronic devices from your bedroom. So when creating a nighttime routine make sure it doesn't involve any reading on your iPad or checking your social media accounts. I sure am guilty of doing this sometimes, but does it improve my sleep? Certainly not. So make sure you switch off your device 1 hour before bed and keep your bedroom smog free to not interfere with your sleep. The center of attention in your bedroom should be sleep an sex, so make sure it is a place where you feel comfortable and at ease.
